The Health Centre is a health care centre that provides a broad range of primary health care services. Health care providers including family physicians, primary care nurses, a nurse practitioner, a dietitian, a mental health counsellor and medical secretaries work as a collaborative team to provide holistic care. Hunter River is just minutes away from the excellent beaches of the National Park and Cavendish Resort area and some of the best world-class golf courses the province has to offer . There are excellent cross country skiing trails in Brookvale and in PEI's National Park that provide opportunities to enjoy the outdoors in the area in winter as well.
Working at the Health Centre, you will be responsible for the delivery of a full range of primary care services to a family based practice. The Hospital, PEI's 274-bed actue care hospital is just 20 minutes drive away. You will also be responsible for admitting and attending to the care of your patients at the QEH and participate as part of a call group of 4-5 physicians. You can choose to live in the Hunter River area.
It is an excellent rural setting, a safe and welcoming community in which to raise a family. The Central Queens Elementary School is just a few steps from the health centre. Many of the neighbours in the aera have horses that graze on the beautiful rolling hills that sourround the community.
The town of Cornwall is also nearby with many lovely homes and Charlottetown is a quick commute as well.
A recruitment package is available with: $35,000 return in service $17,500 issued in year one (1) and $17,500 in year two (2) in return for two (2) years of committed practice in the Province. Expenses for the cost of move are covered under the Moving Allowance Grant (depending on where the physicians is relocating from).
The Master Agreement between the Medical Society of Prince Edward Island and the Government of Prince Edward Island offers a competitive compensation package with good retention initiatives. Remuneration ranges from $138,982. to $149,985., depending on qualifications and experience.
