Our clinic is located in Sherwood Park, Alberta, which is just a 10 to 15 minute drive east of Edmonton.
The actual position is part time at 2 1/2 days per week. However, we have enough clinic space that a locum could work nearly full time at 4 1/2 days per week if they wanted. Our traditional split with our locums is a 65-35 split with 35% of their income paid to the clinic for overhead expenses. Locums can keep 100% of their form fees and fee for service billings.
No hospital coverage is required. No nursing home coverage is required. No deliveries. Some home visits in town may be required should a palliative care situation develop. Each of the doctors does home call and carries a pager for approximately 1 week per month.
The actual office in Sherwood Park has 4 other family physicians. The locum would share an office with one of the other doctors. There is x-ray, lab, and pharmacy available in the building.
